Whether you have been a church-goer all your life or have never been to a church, community groups are a great place to start. They are our way of taking the “churchiness” out of church. Typically, a community group has 6-12 people in it. Groups meet weekly, usually in someone’s home, but from time to time they may meet in a pub or a park or a cafe. Weekly group time includes a meal (or tapas), creative worship, as well as open discussion around varied faith-topics. Community groups are a great place to meet new people and make lasting friendships.

Oasis Madrid meets every weekend in two basic formats.
1. Oasis Madrid holds services every first and third Saturday of the month at 6 pm. We offer a creche for children ages 4 and under. Children ages 5 through 11 are invited to participate in Godly Play, a program that emphasizes story-telling and “wondering”.
We meet at Colegio Porvenir, Bravo Murillo 85 (It is near these metros: Cuatro Caminos, Canal, Rios Rosas, Islas Filipinas). Download a map by clicking here.
2. On the second Saturday of the month, we hold a special teaching time we call “Seminar Saturday”. Visit the”What’s on When” section each month to find out details on time, place, and topic. You can also subscribe to The Cactus below and obtain information that way.
3. On the fourth weekend of the month we host events that we call “The Gathering”. Typically this also is on a Saturday at 6 but sometimes the day and time vary.
For the most up-to-date information on our services and The Gathering visit our What’s On section.

We believe that building relationships, with each other and with the community around us, is important. Because of this, on alternating weekends with Oasis Madrid services, we hold a variety of events, ranging from board games to picnics to community service. Anyone is welcome to come and to invite friends.
Typically, “The Gathering” meets outside the walls of a church building every fourth Saturday of each month at 6 pm, but sometimes the day and time will vary slightly.

For our Kids’ ministry, we use a curriculum called Godly Play. It’s a storytelling-based approach to learning about God and the Christian life through story, play, and exploration. We would love to have more help with Godly Play–in fact, we really need it. If you like kids, or if you like stories, you’ll love this curriculum. If you’re interested in learning more about how you can help out at Oasis Madrid with our kids ministry, please contact Heather at heather@oasismadrid.org or call 91.519.4711.

Oasis Madrid’s Incarnate Ministry aims to “incarnate” (or embody) Christ to the world through expressing the love of Jesus in tangible ways. Specifically, we aim to help the poor, sick, hurting, orphaned and widowed. Members of Oasis Madrid are encouraged to find various ways to incarnate Christ in practical ways by serving others. Since its inception, Oasis Madrid has run a ministry to befriend some of Madrid’s homeless people. Every Friday a few Oasis Madrid members buy, prepare and hand out food to about 25 homeless people in Madrid. If you’d like to get involved in this through either participating on Friday’s, giving financially, praying or providing other items (such as clothes) please contact Warren Batt at warren_batt@hotmail.com.

Oasis Madrid is having a baby! That’s right. We’re starting a baby church, which will be a neighborhood-based Spanish-speaking missional community located in the Malasaña area in the city center of Madrid. We are currently in the process of gathering a team to begin this new project, so if you are interested, feel free to click “Read More” for some answers to some frequently asked questions about this new initiative. If you’re still crazy enough to want to join our new adventure, email Kelly and April at crulls@caimail.net or give them a call at 647 976 806. Read more »
Oasis Madrid is led by a team of crazy elders.
Starting at the top left, working clockwise, they are: Christine Locock, Warren Batt, Amy Swacina, Jay Sensenig and Phil Lucas.
Christine provides oversight to Oasis Madrid’s worship ministry, among serving in other ways. She loves to bake and laugh at Troy’s jokes.
Warren provides oversight to Oasis Madrid’s outreach. He is married to Karen, is a woodworker and is master to a dog that only has one eye. He also likes to laugh at Troy’s jokes.
Amy has been on Oasis Madrid’s full-time staff since its beginning. She oversees our community group ministry and helps keep us somewhat organized by tending to our operations side of things. She loves to dance and laugh at Troy’s jokes.
Jay is married to Carolyn. They arrived in Spain in 2004 and were on the team for our sister church, Mountainview. Jay has served as an advisor to the Oasis team since its beginning in 2006 and he leads the elder board. Together with Phi Lucas, Jay provides oversight to Oasis Madrid’s discipleship and leadership development areas. He is an avid runner and he likes to laugh at Troy’s jokes.
Phil Lucas is an Australian that grew up in Holland. He is married to Lydia. He has been part of Oasis since its beginning and has organized Guy’s Nights for quite a while now. In addition to spear-heading all things testosterone for Oasis, he partners with Jay in championing discipleship and our leader’s community. He is quite the biking enthusiast and he likes to laugh at Troy’s jokes.
Troy is married to Heather. They have two children: Meaghan and Nicolas. Troy is the founding pastor of Oasis. He also laughs at Troy’s jokes.

Oasis Madrid is a ministry of Christian Associates International, an organization headquartered in California, USA and Den Haag, Netherlands.
